your thoughts required - Is it safe to go back into the water yet...?

I've deliberately not paid much attention to the markets over the last week due to the volativity.

Considering what's been going on I'm still not sure I ought to be contemplating trading.

Hopefully by the end of the week the markets might be showing some kind of direction, although I'm convinced that the current upward swing is only a temporary measure. The business market is still far from brimming with confidence and this, in my opinion, will still lead the markets in a longer-term downward trend.

So what do you think?

Are you trading, and if so, what kind of trades are you placing?

I've no intentions of jumping back in until all this turmoil is well and truely over. The emotional trading will no my small account any favours!!

I've been out for the last week or so, but managed to spot a good short opportunity this evening and made a decent win.

I can't see much good news coming soon to buoy the markets. I'm just going to keep looking for the odd opportunity to get a quick short in.

What is a good brokerage for U.S. Residents that does spread betting on Financials? Thanks!

Hi Win,

it's not that this is the wrong forum, it's just that many spread betting/trading providers are European. The US government banned overseas gambling providers from operating in the US.

Charles Schwab offer a spread trading service but having run a search for US spread trading providers I'm struggling to find any at all. There's plenty of training and info suppliers though.

I've asked a couple of friends who trade in the US what they recommend and will post it as soon as I find out.

So, bear with me.

Hope that helps,
Karl
