Well the FTSE and other bourses all seem to continue their downward slide with contrarian commentators predicting that the FTSE could slide as low as 3500 before starting to level off.
Today the FTSE closed at 3883 after a very turbulent week and at time of writing the Dow was at 8325 (down over 4% today).
So, the thing that I keep coming back to is: when's it all going to end?
To be certain, banking shares are now looking fairly cheap - especially since those with solid balance sheets have been dragged down by the sector.
Oil shares, in my view, are still artificially over-valued and are likely to be more so now that OPEC has decided to cut output to shore up revenues against a sliding dollar.
This augers well for my bet with Roger Nightingale (an economist friend of mine) that oil will be above $85 dollars a barrel at Christmas.
So, have we seen something like rock bottom in the markets yet?
Are they going to continue to slide?
Or are they likely to languish at current levels for a while and then start a cautious recovery?
What do you think of current situation?
